Maybe you’ve heard of エンヴィル (ENVYL) already, considering they showed up in the ヴィジュアル系 (Visual Kei) scene immediately once their music video for “D.I.D” hit their YouTube channel, combining metal, programming and ヴィジュアル系 (Visual Kei) in one package with their version of light
雪 (Yuki)
She originally started the project in 2009 as a photographer under the name of Arlequin Photography, but developed an interest in journalism and translation ever since. Because of these interests interviews and reviews were added to the project, until it eventually hit the limits as a "photographer" in 2021, and Arlequin Magazine was added to the mix.
雪 (Yuki) is a native Dutch speaker with a graphic design degree, which means she is also the main person behind Arlequin Creations.
After all these years she is still the main person who does interviews the interviews and live photos that you see on Arlequin, but also a large chunk of the reviews and behind-the-scenes work and communication goes through her.
She speaks Dutch and English on a native level, but also understands Japanese and German.
G.L.A.M.S // “TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN” Tour 2020 at Special Edition
G.L.A.M.S were originally supposed to perform at the Popcentrale for their Dordrecht stop of the date, but due to government measures relating to the rapid spreading of the COVID-19 virus the venue was forced to cancel the show just one day before it was supposed to take place. Unfortunately for G.L.A.M.S
VII ARC // “TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN” Tour 2020 (support) at Special Edition
Just like G.L.A.M.S, VII ARC were supposed to support the Japanese group at the Popcentrale, but when the show was canceled to comply with government restrictions and G.L.A.M.S found a new stage at Special Edition, VII ARC moved along with them.
And again, just like G.L.A.M.S, the smaller stage meant
G.L.A.M.S // Closing the language gap through “TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN”
When G.L.A.M.S announced that they would be touring Europe again despite the developments surrounding the COVID-19 virus I originally said that maybe it wasn’t the greatest time to do an interview. I recently spoke with vocalist and band leader Mikaru through an email-interview about the new album
G.L.A.M.S // Envisioning the “TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN”
At the moment of writing the guys from G.L.A.M.S are getting ready to start on their next European tour. The release of the new album is planned
Mikaru // “I write lyrics as if they’re intended for a movie.”
This interview was done before the new album from G.L.A.M.S, “TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN” officially came out. Mikaru offered to answer a total of five questions about the new album, on only one condition: I would have to ask completely blind. There was no information given other than the name of the album,

龍-RYU- // “I don’t want to be a part of the masses, I want to be unique.”
Near the end of 2018 I spoke to 龍-RYU- about his now former project “OROCHI”, a project he had started 15 years ago to combine his love for music and traditional Japanese culture into a “samurai rock” band which had their first performance here in The Netherlands all the way back in 2011. ice // “I was attracted to the Visual Kei genre because of the visual expression and ROCK.”
You might recognize ice from “Black Gene For the Next Scene”, a rather well known ヴィジュアル系 (Visual Kei) band lead by the former bassist of ヴィドール (Vidoll), Rame. Black Gene For the Next Scene, often shortened to “BFN” due to the length of the project’s name, combined electronica with pop, rock and a twist
