Dress Up Town and Deshima Sounds aren’t “new” names for the Japanese (anime) music lovers here in The Netherlands. Both have been part of the lineup for TomoCon (and TomoFair) and Abunai! before, but this time it’s not a convention that requires some entertainment…
Instead of a convention or festival with a Japanese theme Dress Up Town and Deshima Sounds will entertain visitors along with Trebulence during a WEEB ROCK! night in cultural center “Astrant”.
Program
The night will start at 8PM with Trebulence, a four-member guitar heavy anime formation who will make sure that the stage for the night is set.
Next up it will be time for the queen of rock and her butlers. Dress Up Town is thé anime cover songs band from The Netherlands. If you’re a fan of anime then you have to see this band at least once!
And finally Deshima Sounds will turn Astrant into a J-club with Eurobeat, House, EDM, Japanese hardcore, Freestyle and bass music to close off the night.
A long story short, it looks like it will be a party regardless!

Cultural center Astrant is located at the Kuiperplein 31 in Ede, and is very easy to reach with public transport. The train station in Ede-Centrum is only a few minutes away by foot, and you can get to station Ede-Wageningen through a short bus ride (or even by foot if you don’t mind a longer walk).
Would you rather come by car? The Kuiperplein also has a large parking lot, and the various underground parking garages and city owned parking lots are all within walking distance.
And a little tip for the Japanese music lovers who might not be into anime that much: ELECTRIC EEL SHOCK will be playing in Astrant on April 20, along with Dikke Dennis and The Rockers.
Maybe there will be more Japanese artists in Astrant in the future. Who knows!
雪 (Yuki) is the owner and driving force behind Arlequin.
She originally started the project in 2009 as a photographer under the name of Arlequin Photography, but developed an interest in journalism and translation ever since. Because of these interests interviews and reviews were added to the project, until it eventually hit the limits as a "photographer" in 2021, and Arlequin Magazine was added to the mix.
雪 (Yuki) is a native Dutch speaker with a graphic design degree, which means she is also the main person behind Arlequin Creations.
After all these years she is still the main person who does interviews the interviews and live photos that you see on Arlequin, but also a large chunk of the reviews and behind-the-scenes work and communication goes through her.
She speaks Dutch and English on a native level, but also understands Japanese and German.
